Hi there! My name is J Colton Reid, and I am an artist! I love to write and take pictures, and really any other form of creative outlet I can try. My passion is finding beauty in the world, particularly in the spaces where we might struggle to find comfort and peace. I love to create complex, imaginative worlds and characters. I grew up in Reno and Las Vegas, and currently I am an English major at BYU with minors in Chemistry and Philosophy. There’s so many things that I love, and I really love loving things! So, here are some of those things:

• I love the desert! I grew up in rural Nevada, so I also love wide open hills, endless sagebrush and dirt.

• I love movies! My letterboxd top four are (currently): Aftersun, Spirited Away, Past Lives, and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Check out my letterboxd @ColtonAbstract

• I love dogs, petting dogs, watching videos of dogs on social media, and saying hi to dogs whenever I see them. Same for monkeys, but I don’t see them in person as much.

• I love Magic the Gathering! It is the greatest game ever created, and there is no argument. Deck building/theory crafting is probably my biggest hobby, but I also just love to play weekly at my local store.

• I love hockey! I love to play hockey, I am on a ‘beer league’ team at my school (though here at BYU we call it ‘milk league’). And I love the Vegas Golden Knights!

• I love to create new worlds for Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, or for my own creative writing.

• I love being a Christian! I believe in a God that cares for the downtrodden, marginalized, and oppressed (and asks us to do the same).

• I love Spider-Man! The greatest, most inspiring superhero. Anyone can wear the mask.

• I love to make ice cream! This year I’ve really been trying to find the perfect texture, and I think I’m getting close.

• I love telling people that I love them!
